Longing to Look into the Gospel

Peter explains, "Concerning this salvation, the prophets who prophesied about the grace that was to be yours searched and inquired carefully, inquiring what person or time the Spirit of Christ in them was indicating when he predicted the sufferings of Christ and the subsequent glories. It was revealed to them that they were serving not themselves but you, in the things that have now been announced to you through those who preached the good news to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven, things into which angels long to look."

What is amazing about this passage is Peter mentioning that angels long to look into the Gospel! If beings, such as the angels, long to look into something they can never understand, how much more we who experience the Gospel should long to look into the Gospel!

There is certainly more here, but I wanted to draw our attention to what the angels long to look into, namely the Gospel.

Dave - I come by often, but I do not often post a comment. I deeply appreciate the extra effort you put into your blogs. Especially concerning the things of the Gospel.

Although this post has triggered some meditation on the ways of God, and I am grateful. The purpose of this comment is a selfish one...I am in need of prayer today. As the Holy Spirit leads I would really appreciate any prayer.
